 National Speech and Debate Tournament - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The National Speech and Debate Tournament is a week-long championship forensics competition hosted by the National Forensic League itself.
Also called the "Grand National Tournament", or simply "Nationals" by many forensic competitors, it is the largest and most difficult tournament to both qualify and compete in.
Unlike State Tournaments, which is only competition of a particular State, the National Tournament competes all NFL Competitors across the United States.

 NFL District Tournament - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
NFL District Tournaments are held each year by the National Forensic League to determine the qualifiers to the National Speech and Debate Tournament in speech, debate, and Student Congress.
In Student Congress, the district tournament is often held separately from the speech and debate competitions.
In debate events (Policy, PFD, and LD), qualifiers are determined by a double-elimination tournament which runs until the number of debaters left in the tournament is the same as the number of qualifing slots.

The host local diocesan league and the NCFL share the responsibility for the finances of the Grand National Speech and Debate Tournament.
Since the early 1990’s, the selection of the host diocesan league and city for the National Catholic Forensic League’s (NCFL) Annual Grand National Speech and Debate Tournament has become a competitive effort.

 Speech Team Strikes Gold in Atlanta, Again, 4/17/98
The City College Speech and Debate Team brought in more than their share of awards at the Phi Rho Pi National Forensic Honor Society’s National Speech and Debate Championship Tournament held in Atlanta, Ga., April 6-10.
Although there are no speech tournaments left for this semester, the team is preparing for Speech Night and Speech Search, which will be held at City College in May.

Cameron's Forensic program has been nationally ranked among Pi Kappa Delta senior colleges and universities since 1975 and has won two national championships at the Pi Kappa Delta National Speech and Debate Tournament in 1979 in St. Louis, Missouri and 1981 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Last week at the Phi Rho Pi Community College National Championship Speech and Debate Tournament (April 9-17), held in Philadelphia, the Solano Speech and Debate Team captured the Gold Award in overall sweepstakes among the 49 community colleges competing in the small schools division, thus becoming the national champions.
The stunning turnaround in what had been a rebuilding year for the Falcons earned the college its first-ever national championship in speech and debate in the overall sweepstakes category (previous national champions in the debate category in both 1998 and 2002).
The Solano Community College Speech and Debate team won their 9th consecutive regional championship tournament at the NCFA Championship tournament in Stockton.
