National Tsing Hua University (Traditional Chinese: 國立清華大學; Simplified Chinese:国立清华大学; Hanyu Pinyin: Guólì Qīnghuá Dàxué; Wade-Giles: Kuo-li Ch'ing-hua Ta-hsuëh) is a university in Hsinchu City, Taiwan Province, Republic of China.
After the Chinese Civil War, Tsinghua University was divided into Tsinghua University in Beijing and National Tsing Hua Institute of Nuclear Technology recreated in 1955 in Hsinchu, Taiwan, which later became National Tsing Hua University.
Cheng Kung Lake is located on National Tsing Hua University's campus.

Hsinchu is also the location of two major universities, National Tsing Hua (with about 4500 students and about 450 faculty), and National Chiao-Tung Univ. The model for growth here seems to be Tsukuba science city in Japan.

One of ten national laboratories overseen and primarily funded by the Office of Science of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Brookhaven National Laboratory conducts research in the physical, biomedical, and environmental sciences, as well as in energy technologies and national security.
