 National Unity Government in T&T.
Everyone would feel he or she has a stake in the system and would work harder for national development and economic growth.
Such a government would also help to reduce corruption and strengthen democracy making the people, as opposed to the parties, supreme.
Thus, the parties have to be honest to themselves that they are representatives of their races and seek to guarantee equity in the distribution of the state's largesse for their races.

Letters to the Editor Government of national unity is a big threat to democracy
The Wednesday Cabinet reshuffle, which saw President Kibaki form a government of nationality by bringing the opposition in his stable, has enhanced the validity of the clamour for the post of an executive Prime Minister.
Aren’t some of the people Kibaki has brought back in government the same "thieves" he said during his inauguration speech had looted the public coffers?
Despite the current constitution being silent on coalition government and the prerogative of the president to choose ministers from the sitting MPs, Kibaki’s action amounts to political bribery, conmanship and poaching.
