Natsagiyn Bagabandi (Mongolian: Нацагийн Багабанди) (born April 22, 1950 in Zavhan) was the president of Mongolia from 1997 to 2005, and a member of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party.
In the presidential elections on May 22, 2005, Nambaryn Enkhbayar was elected to succeed Natsagiyn Bagabandi with 53.4 percent of the vote and took office in June.

Gathering in the historic New York Public Library with its 100 miles of books, First Lady Laura Bush, U.N. officials, and President Natsag Bagabandi of Mongolia February 13 launched the United Nations Literacy Decade.
The U.N. General Assembly declared 2003 to 2012 the Literacy Decade to address the needs of 860 million adults and 113 million children who are illiterate and give impetus to efforts to reduce the persistently high rate of illiteracy worldwide.
President Bagabandi of Mongolia initiated the effort for the literacy decade and Mongolia sponsored the assembly resolution setting out the decade and its theme of "Literacy as Freedom."

Gankhuyag was born on 2nd December 1961 as a son of the Natsag family in Ulaanbaatar.
His parents are famous masters of handmade "tsam" masks and sculptures in the traditional Mongolian style.
In relation with the production of Tsam masks made from paper-mâché and the choreography of dance rituals (Khuree Tsam), Ghankhuyag Natsag has been taught a lot by the venerable Lama Sereeter, one of the two last monks still living in Urga (Ulaanbaatar).
