NationMaster - Encyclopedia: Natural person   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-08)
In jurisprudence, a natural person is a human being perceptible through the senses and subject to physical laws, as opposed to an artificial person, i.e., an organization that the law treats for some purposes as if it were a person distinct from its members or owners.
A legal entity is a legal construct through which the law allows a group of natural persons to act as if it were an individual for certain purposes.
In many cases fundamental human rights are implicitly granted only to natural persons; for example a corporation cannot hold public office, but it can file a lawsuit.

 Trust Reaps "Natural Person"
The exception to the non-natural person rule states that an annuity contract held by a trust or other entity as an agent for a natural person is considered to be held by a natural person.
This history states that an annuity contract will be considered to be held by a natural person if the nominal owner is not a natural person (such as a corporation or a trust) but the beneficial owner of the annuity contract is a natural person.
This particular letter ruling involved a fact situation in which the same individual (a natural person) was the sole life beneficiary of the trust and the sole annuitant under the annuity contract.

Sovereign or 'Person'   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-08)
The issue of 'person' is of primary importance since under color of authority [unconstitutional regardless of the target populace] statutes and laws are made to affect 'person[s,'] not 'citizen' or 'sovereign.' As stated above, the sovereign is the highest authority and is supreme to all other law except the laws of the Creator.
A person is a man considered according to the rank he holds in society, with all the rights to which the place he holds entitles him, and the duties which it imposes.
As to the persons who compose the body politic, they take collectively the name, of people, or nation; and individually they are citizens, when considered in relation to their political rights, and subjects as being submitted to the laws of the state.

Reg E: Is a sole proprietorship a natural person?
Question: Generally, the definition of consumer is someone using an account for "personal, family or household purposes." However, Reg E simply defines a consumer as a "natural person" [205.2(e)].
The result is that not only must the account be held by a natural person, but it must be a personal account as we commonly understand them.
If a sole proprietor runs a business account but occasionally does a personal EFT, that EFT would not be subject to Regulation E. Suppose he or she has a business debit card and once in a while uses it to buy pizza (it must be snack time!) for the family.

MAH - Natural Person Powers (Section 8)
Natural person powers provide municipalities with authority similar to those used by individuals and corporations and give them the flexibility to conduct their administrative and organizational affairs.
Along with the spheres of jurisdiction, the natural person powers are one of the key concepts that changed the Act from a prescriptive, literal statute to one that is more flexible and enabling.
Some municipalities have asked if they need to enact a “natural person” by-law before initially exercising this power.  It is not the province’s intent to require any special process or advance preparation for using this authority.  A by-law should be passed each time councils exercise their natural person powers.

1.3 Natural Person - Physical Presence
The person must be physically present in the Republic for more than ninety-one days in each of the three previous years of assessment.
A person who is a resident in terms of the physical presence test will be deemed not to be a resident if he is physically outside the Republic for a continuous period of at least 330 full days immediately after the day on which he ceases to be physically present in the Republic.
Therefore when a person emigrates from the Republic, because he would have been ordinarily resident in the Republic in the year of assessment prior to his emigration the ‘physical presence’ test cannot be applied in the year of assessment of emigration.

 Noun and Pronoun Characteristics
Generally, the English language uses natural gender rather than grammatical gender -- that is, the gender of a word is usually based on its biology (so there is little need to remember whether a word is masculine or feminine).
There was a time when you could use the masculine gender by default when you did not know a person's natural gender, but very few people accept this usage any longer.
Traditionally, you were required to use the third person in formal academic writing, but some people now accept the first person.
