In general, a natural-born citizen of a country is someone who is legally recognized as that country's citizen as of the moment of birth, rather than by acquiring citizenship afterwards through naturalization.
The special term "Natural-Born Citizen" is used in particular as a requirement for eligibility to serve as President or Vice-President of the United States.

I would not allow foreign born citizens to be head of the country, which is Commander in Chief of the military and with that comes the ultimate power to go to war.
Though being the child of citizens means I was a citizen from birth, my understanding is that this section has been interpreted to mean a candidate must be actually born on US soil, which means I could never run for president (not that I would ever want to!).
Since citizens vote for who their leader is, it is their choice to elect the president; he/she could be from New York or Nigeria, as long as the citizens legitimize the election, the office should be open to everyone regardless of national origin.

Foreign-born adoptees who become citizens as children receive a "certificate of citizenship" not a "certificate of naturalization." However, this distinction is intended to differentiate between people who become naturalized at the instigation of their parents and those who become naturalized by their own choice -- not to differentiate between naturalization and some other process.
First, a strict interpretation of the language in the Constitution seems to imply that foreign-born adoptees are not "natural born" citizens and hence are not eligible to be President.
This statement appears to rule out the possibility that "naturalized" citizens could be considered "natural-born," but it does not indicate whether any people other than "native" or "native-born" citizens can be considered "natural-born" and it does not reveal whether the naturalization clause gives Congress the power to determine what "natural-born" means.

Natural born means born in a territory, (anything under US jurisdiction) or to US Citizens no matter where you are born.
I know that children born overseas to US servicepeople have the choice of declaring themselves as a US citizen or a citizen of the country in which they were born when they turn 18.
I certainly don't think that people should be "punished" for having a child overseas while they are serving their country (i.e., by having their child not able to become president if they so desired).

The natural born citizen requirement is yet another safeguard to prevent foreign influence – this time regarding the highest office of the land.
I would tend believe however that a naturalized citizen would have a greater chance of being subject to foreign influence than a natural born citizen.
A naturalized citizen running for the Presidency probably would never get to such a position if his or her loyalties were in question – but I still feel better about keeping the safeguard in place.
