Naturalistic pantheism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Naturalistic pantheism is a form of pantheism that holds that the universe, although unconscious and non-sentient as a whole, is a meaningful focus for mystical fulfillment.
Opponents of naturalistic pantheism allege that it constitutes an intentional misuse of terminology, and an attempt to justify atheism by mislabeling it as pantheism.
It is widely (although not universally) accepted that the essence of mysticism within the context of pantheistic thought lies in a direct knowledge or a direct experience of god, which is in their mind readily attainable by the pantheist, considering that his or her god is all that exists.

My biggest problem is how you label all Pantheists as "they." You seem to alternate between "some pantheists" and just "pantheists." Pantheism is more complex than "thinking of the universe as a god" and there are Scientific Pantheists, Pagan Pantheists, etc. I think you should preface your Pantheism section with a clearer definition.
I am not a Pantheist, because I don't want to be an Atheist and I have lost count of the number of times I have defended Atheism on various message boards.
Thus, contrary to the claims of some pantheists, an additional "reverence" for the planet (or the universe) is not needed.
