Naturefriends worked, in co-operation with organisations from the workers movement, to oppose the inhumane and unhealthy living and working conditions in the towns, flats and factories and to make the vision of a humane and socially fair industrial society a reality.

Through the years, the Naturefriends movement acquired cottages and houses in natural areas, where the members could meet, spend cheap holidays or have a meal and a drink after their weekend outings.
Simultaneously, the Naturefriends organisations which had been under state control under the communist regime, became independent again, and were re-welcomed as a member of the international organisation, such as Hungary.
Over the past years, the Naturefriends have played an important role in the development of this concept, which tries to be an alternative for the mass tourism based on consumption only.

In some countries the Naturefriends movements developed separate youth organisations, in other there is a youth branch, in some of them there are working groups especially for young people and in others there are none.
Therefore we would like to concentrate on different involvement of young people in their organisation (with a special attention to the Naturefriends organisations and more specifically to IYNF) — based on the structure, age group and activities it runs.
We would also like to search for solutions for problems in communication and understanding between different age groups — what they are based on, how to solve misunderstandings, how to find a common way of communication, how to deal with different approaches and methods and how to combine all of it for the mutual benefit.
