A Naval Flight Officer in the United States Navy and Marine Corps is an officer rated for command in the naval aviation community.
In the Fleet, Naval Flight Officers are assigned to Navy and Marine squadrons flying the F/A-18F Super Hornet, F/A-18D Hornet (Marines Only), EA-6B Prowler, E-6B Mercury, E-2C Hawkeye, C-130 Hercules, EP-3 Aries, F-14 Tomcat, and P-3 Orion.
In larger aircraft, like the P-3 and C-130, the Naval Flight Officer is the flight engineer or navigator, in the EA-6B, they are the Electronic Countermeausres Operators (ECMO's) and navigator.

HE search for a missing female naval officer was called off Monday, 10 days after the anti-submarine ship she was in collided with a merchant vessel off Singapore, the defense ministry said.
Three female officers were killed January 3 when the 55,000-tonne Dutch-registered ANL Indonesia collided with the RSS Courageous off eastern Singapore.
All four women, specialists in handling naval weapons and communications systems, were in the sleeping quarters of the RSS Courageous at the time of the collision.

The bandits who have been terrorising Warri, Effurun and environs in the past few weeks, released the top Naval officer who was abducted on his way home from a church service along Airport Road in Warri in company of his wife at about 8pm.
The robbers reportedly ordered the Commanding Officer to enter his car and they drove him to other parts of the town, where they continued with their operation, shooting at the police at some checkpoints to escape.
The Naval Officer was held hostage by the robbers throughout their operation and he was only released when the robbers felt it was safe for them to do so.
