Nazi propaganda - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nazi Germany was noted for its psychologically powerful propaganda, much of which was centered around Jews, who were scapegoated as the source of Germany's economic woes.
Nazi propaganda also expressed themes more common among the warring countries: the imminent defeat of their enemies, the need for security, etc. Doctored newsreel footage was also used to garner support for the Nazi cause.
Joseph Goebbels was the Minister for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda in Nazi Germany and played a large role in creating new anti-semitic and pro-nazi material for the party.

Propaganda - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Propaganda also has much in common with public information campaigns by governments, which are intended to encourage or discourage certain forms of behavior (such as wearing seat belts, not smoking, not littering, or so forth).
Propaganda, in this sense, serves as a corollary to censorship in which the same purpose is achieved, not by filling people's minds with approved information, but by preventing people from being confronted with opposing points of view.
Such permeating propaganda may be used for political goals: by giving citizens a false impression of the quality or policies of their country, they may be incited to reject certain proposals or certain remarks, or ignore the experience of others.

 Nazi Propaganda Tactics
Selected districts are veritably inundated and worked-over with propaganda operations consisting of methodically and skillfully prepared written and verbal appeals as well as schedule of meetings, all of which in terms of sheer activity cannot in the least be matched by any other party or political movement.
Carefully organized propaganda headquarters in the individual districts see to it that speakers and topics are in tune with local conditions and economic circumstances.
Frequently such propaganda squads remain in a certain place for several days and attempt to inspire support for the Party from the local population by staging a variety of events such as concerts, sports festivals, military marching spectacles, as well as even closed-rank church attendance in suitable towns.

The story of the Nazi rise to power in the Germany of the 1930s is often seen as a classic example of how to achieve political ends through propaganda.
