The political mercury is rising in Greece with an announcement by the major opposition party Nea Dimokratia that it will reintroduce to parliament draft legislation about public services transparency.
Minister for media and information, Hristos Protopapas, has accused Nea Dimokratia of sensationalism, and has called upon the party to stop making general accusations and provide proof.
Nea Dimokratia had originally introduced the legislation last year, but it never made it onto the agenda of the relevant parliamentary committee.

Now it seems that Nea Dimokratia (New Democracy), the right conservative party, with its leader and now prime minister Kostas Karamanlis, which won the last (March 2004) elections, is the selected choice of the American and European sovereignity in order to promote better their interests in Greece and the wider Mediterranean and Balkan area.
The General Confederation of the Workers of Greece (GSEE) stuck to the union sectors of the four biggest political parties (Nea Dimokratia, PASOK, Communist Party and Coalition of Left), was unable during these years to organised even a succesfull 24 hours strike and the only thing is doing is to praise every government.
The most notable of them was the Omada Anarxokommouniston Neas Smyrnis (Group of Anarchocommunists of Nea Smyrni — an almost inner suburb I the south of central Athens), which co-operated with the anarchist bookshop “Eleftheros Typos” (“Free Press”) and others in the edition of the magazine “Anarxos” (“Anarchos”).

 Right-wing comes to power in Greece
In parliamentary elections in Greece last Sunday the right-wing Partei Nea Dimokratia (New Democracy Party—ND) recorded a clear victory over the reigning Pan-Hellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK).
Together with the two big parties, ND and PASOK, the Greek Communist Party (KKE) with 5.89 percent and Synaspismos, a union of various left-wing groups that won 3.26 percent, were also able to take seats in the parliament.
The victory by Nea Dimokratia was not unexpected and the new Greek prime minister and chairman of ND, Konstantinos Karamanlis, presented his new government on Tuesday.
