Adams studied his craft at the High School of Industrial Art and at age 21 had his own Ben Casey syndicated newspaper strip which he hopes to release on book form.
Adams in the late 70's was a major influence in helping Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, the creators of Superman gain a well deserved, long overdue compensation from DC/Warner Brothers in the form of a pension for the rest of their lives.
Neal is the definitive Batman illustrator and I hope he'll return for more annual Batman adventures with DC Comics.

Neal Adams is a professional guitarist, composer, and music teacher living in Orange County, CA just outside of Los Angeles.
Neal returned home to Los Angeles in August of 1998 after finishing his Jazz Composition and Performance degree at Boston's Berklee College of Music to perform and teach in Los Angeles, Ventura, and Orange Counties.
To further his musical curiosity, Neal is completing a Masters Degree in Jazz Performance at Cal State Fullerton where he received a Scholarship in 2000 from "the Friends of Jazz" organization.

If Neal or any other artist wishes to re-do there previous work that is their privilage, BUT, do not tell us that it is the same work previously done and expect us to except this blindly.

With Adams, I admired (and admire) his artwork for the precision it has and for its theatrical qualities, perfectly suited to superhero tales.
Adams' page fling is beautiful stuff, and seeing his linework laden with 1970s era color inks compares poorly to the sheer striking edge of his art without that layer of interference.
Compared to what came before in superhero comics, Adams treatment of the male figure seems to connect backward over hundreds of years to Michelangelo's obsessions with the same matters of glorifying the human anatomy in action and repose.
