Neal Schon branches out to rock new generations
Neal's father, a jazz saxophonist, helmed a big band that young Neal also played with, so father and son were never at a loss for great music to listen to and play.
Neal started to make a name for himself at age 14, playing regularly with Elvin Bishop at the Keystone Corner club in the Bay Area, though he was obviously underage.
Schon had a hand in writing such classic Journey songs as "Wheel in the Sky," "Lights," "Don't Stop Believin'," "Stone in Love" and "Still They Ride." Though he's known mostly for arena rock anthems, he continues to dabble in jazz and is always trying to learn new things.
