Encroachments are posing a security threat to the functioning of the State's first numismatic and folklore museum situated in the Nedumangad taluk, about 18 km from the State capital.
But according to the members of the Nedumangad municipality and the officials of the Department of Archaeology, only one acre and 20 cents remain today.
According to C.V. Sreekumar, a research officer with the Department of Archaeology, visitors to the museum have to take the road through the rear of the palace due to the presence of `encroachments.' There is also no space for parking the vehicles of the visitors.
