Neil Francis Gerrard (born 3 July 1942, Farnworth, Lancashire) is a politician in the United Kingdom, and Labour Member of Parliament for Walthamstow.
He is a left-winger within the party, and is a member of the Socialist Campaign Group.

One of the most perverse results of the 1987 election was the shock Tory victory in Walthamstow - Labour clawed it back in 1992 though and there was a big increase in the Labour vote last time.
Neil Gerrard will be safe but should always keep his eyes on the Tories.
It seemed like the end of an era when in 1987 Labour lost this traditional East End fiefdom which had once been represented by Clement Attlee.

AFTER a blind man was turned away by six different minicab firms, Walthamstow MP Neil Gerrard described drivers who refuse to take guide dogs as "unreasonable".
Mr Gerrard was instrumental in getting a Bill through Parliament which makes it illegal for licensed cab drivers to refuse to carry guide dogs in their cars.
Mr Gerrard said it could be "some time this year" that minicab drivers in London were licensed, and then they would have no option but to follow the new law.

THE Government has been asked by Walthamstow MP Neil Gerrard to take action to protect health workers from the risk of acquiring potentially fatal blood-borne infections through their work.
