Online NewsHour: Update | CIA Leak Source Revealed | August 30, 2006 | PBS
NEIL LEWIS: He did, only in one instance that we know of, and that's a month earlier, in June 2003, a similar, as you say, off-handed comment to Bob Woodward, the assistant managing editor of the Washington Post and a celebrated author, one of the world's most famous reporters.

NEIL LEWIS: Well, that was to me the most fascinating thing to witness during the day because he seemed to me to represent the military's approach to having to undergo this process in that he was at times very solicitous and at times clearly annoyed.
NEIL LEWIS: I would say the two most important things are, one, there is no independent appellate process, no review outside of the military.

NEIL LEWIS: That's right, and it was two parts to that.
NEIL LEWIS: That's right, and they still are, and we're, I think, troubled by the disclosure of this.

Lewis Stone is sweet and aristocratic, but his part is relatively small despite his character's impact on the story.
It brings to mind films like "Stella Dallas" and "Madame X", as the film is ultimately about the depths of a mother's love and the sacrifices that some mothers are willing to make for their young.
Beautifully directed by Edgar Selwyn and deeply moving, with a notable performance by Lewis Stone as the dapper and debonair Carlo Boretti, this is a film to be enjoyed as much today, as when it was first released.
