NELSON CO: 4th in order of creation 29 Nov 1784 from part of Jefferson Co, named for Thomas NELSON, signer of the Dec of Independence.
Bardstown is the county seat, which was settled in 1780 and named for David BAIRD, one of the original settlers.

At a Court held for Jefferson County, the 3rd of December, 1781.
Records have not been found for the marriage of Joanna Farrow to Jacob Close, however considering that records exist showing Joanna Farrow filed suit against Samuel Wells estate in her maiden name in 1782, it is my estimate that she and Jacob Close married around 1782-1783.
According to the lineage produced by Dorothy Clark Colwell on the Farrow Family, Joanna Farrow was the daughter of John Farrow, eldest son of William Farrow and Anne [Thornton?].
