The Clouded Leopard (Neofelis nebulosa) is a medium-sized cat, 60 to 110 cm (2 ft to 3 ft 6 in) long and weighing between 11 and 20 kg (25 to 44 lb).
It has a tan or tawny coat, and is distinctively marked with large, irregularly-shaped, dark-edged ellipses which are said to be shaped like clouds, hence both its common and scientific names.
Neofelis nebulosa brachyurus: Taiwan (extinct in the wild)
(Neofelis) The clouded leopard also as Neofelis is in the cats family knew as Felidae that includes tigers, jaguars, lons, cheetahs, wildcats,(Full text)
Neofelis is the channel sheriff with 1 deops.
The clouded leopard is distinct from other members of the felids and stands alone in its own genus as Neofelis nebulosa, literally the new cat with a cloudy pelt.
Because it is sufficiently different from the other members of the cat family, the clouded leopard is classified as the sole member of the genus Neofelis.
The clouded leopard is named for the cloud-like spots of its coat that provide camouflage in its forest habitat.
These cats were endemic in diverse habitats until the advent of fireaarms led to their extirpation over large areas by 1900.
The clouded leopard (Neofelis nebulosa), the smallest "big cat," has in recent decades suffered extensive losses in southeast Asia and China due to habitat loss and paching.
Very few studies have been attempted of the clouded leopard in the wild due to inaccessibility of the predator's tropical forest habitat.

Clouded leopards look unique, interesting, and mysterious; look for pictures online; it would be rare to find one at a farm.
The clouded leopard is generally protected under game laws and fully protected in parks and reserves, but there is not enough knowledge about wild populations to draw firm conclusions about the success of these conservation measures.

Tiger (Panthera (Neofelis) tigris) - The largest of all cats killed by traditional Chinese medicine?
There are different opinions among scientists, whether to call the Tiger Panthera tigris and leave it in the genus Panthera together with the Lion and the other so-called Great cats or to call it Neofelis tigris and have it in the genus Neofelis together with the much smaller Clouded leopard (Neofelis nebulosa).
But the following is not disputed: Tigers are the largest living cats.
