 Neolibertarianism - Libertarian Wiki
Neolibertarianism is a political philosophy combining elements of libertarian and conservative thought that embraces incrementalism and pragmatism domestically, and a generally interventionist foreign policy.
Neolibertarianism holds that the best form of national government is one that promotes capitalism and strong national defense policies, including the use of pre-emptive military engagements if necessary.
Critics often quote Randolf Borne: "War is the health of the State." Neolibertarians typically respond to this criticism by saying they support military engagements that remove impediments to capitalism and only in the most extreme situations.

But the founder of the Republican Liberty Caucus said years ago (more than a decade) that neolibertarian is a distinction for the RLCers from the LP and the rest of the movement.

Neolibertarianism is not rampant interventionism - such a foreign policy would be at odds with the concept of a limited government.
I wouldn’t agree that this neolibertarian perspective involves an assumption that human nature is "greedy and boorish" or "destructive to society and the general peace".
Neolibertarians are welcome, as are paleo-libertarians, geo-libertarians, anarchocapitalists, libertarian Republicans, and libertarian Democrats (yeah, there are even a couple of these).

Neolibertarians, though not as strict in their definition of "separation of church and state" as many American liberals and libertarians, do not advocate as strongly as other conservatives for the use of religion in public policy disputes."
The whole term "neolibertarian" is a term coined by the self-declared "paleolibertarians" of the Mises Institute in order to defame other libertarians, and this whole article is unobjective trash.
The first use of “neolibertarian” that I encountered was for a notion that liberty was subject to aggregate maximization and ought to be thus maximized.

Democratic Peace: Libertarian Is Out -- Neolibertarian Is In.
“Neolibertarian” smacks of “neoconservative,” which is a somewhat derogatory label that the liberal media originally gave those liberals, who disgusted with the anti-anticommunism of the left, began to support the hard line, conservative foreign policy.
Likewise, neolibertarian smacks of a label the liberal media would also apply to libertarians who have defected from the Libertarian Party to support the Bush foreign policy.
The name “neolibertarian” is now imbedded in the effort of the QandO people, and it has organization, thought, and momentum behind it.

 INCITE: The Neolibertarian Network
The obvious one is, what in hell is a "neolibertarian?" The boys at QandO (who are also the founders of the NN) have written fairly extensively on the neolibertarian ideological framework.
Briefly, however, a neolibertarian is a pragmatic, conservative libertarian.
Indeed, a neolibertarian is someone, like me, who has traditionally referred to themselves as a "libertarian leaning conservative." Its goals are limiting the size and power of the state, limiting encroachments on personal freedom and liberty, and promoting free trade and deregulation--all of these things where practicable.

I figure neo=libertarianism is the latest buzzword to try to convince libertarians to not take back the Republican party, but rather to vote once or twice for high tax Democrats.
It is however, a way to join neoconservatives and libertarians together in order to take the rudder from the social fundamentalists that seem to be driving the GOP into the ground these days.

The neolibertarian move is to deploy the same old arguments, but to restrict their scope to apply only to noncommercial associations.
The challenge for the neolibertarians is to show that this modification rescues the arguments from the fatal flaws of their predecessors.

To the extent that being ’neolibertarian’ means being ’pragmatic,’ not doctrinaire, then because the WOD is framed as a moral, government regulation in some form is going to have to be part of a neolibertarian counter argument.
