 Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship Program | Nephrology - Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
The fellow attends outpatient Nephrology clinic. Every patient seen by the fellow is discussed at clinic with an attending physician and cases are reviewed once a week. The fellow will be expected to present cases at appropriate conferences and give lectures to residents and medical students. 
The fellow will continue to complete his or her research project with the same clinical responsibilities, including on-call, as specified in year one. If interested, the fellow may supervise residents and junior fellows in a capacity similar to an attending, with continuous support from a staff nephrologist.
The fellow is expected to complete a research project in order to sit for the Pediatric Nephrology Subspecialty Board Examination. This usually requires submission of a first-author presentation related to the research. Opportunities exist with several scientist-nephrologists at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania or clinical research at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. A NIH training grant is available for eligible fellows.
