		The Orion class battleships were four super-dreadnoughts — the first ships of that type — of the Royal Navy's.
		The previous Colossus and Neptune classes had already adopted a superfiring pair of turrets aft in an effort to save deck space, and competing designs in the US and elsewhere had lead the way in the all-centerline arrangement.
		Finally, the staggered arrangement of the Colossus and Neptune class complicated internal arrangements and was generally not considered a success.

		If the amounts of ships figure is in brackets, it indicates that further vessels in that class are planned, and the current number is only provisional, this obviously is only pertinent to 24th century classes still under construction.
		Final power values given are a fair indication of that class' actual armour and hitpoints capability, and a ship whose power is 100, is there or thereabouts ten times as powerful as a ship that is rated at 10.

		While the hull and propulsion system were largely derivative of the successful Arethusa Class, the main armament of this new Dido Class was the 5.25" high angle/low angle (HA/LA) turret which was also the secondary armament on the new King George V Class battleship.
