After initial searches for a suitable location for building an orphanage, we were introduced to a priest in the city of Nerekhta, Father Andrei Voronin who, likewise, wished to organize an orphanage in his area, whose aim would be to raise children in accordance with the Russian Orthodox traditions.
One, for instance, witnessed the murder of his mother by his drunken father; the other witnessed the murder of his father by his mother, driven to despair by his constant beatings; one, before coming to Nerekhta, lived in a doghouse.
In Nerekhta, there is not a single enterprise that does not participate in this project in one way or another.

Kostroma Jewish leader Andrey Osherov-a member of Rabbi Lazar's Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia and UCSJ's antisemitism monitor in the region-first raised the alarm in late January with a report detailing a series of antisemitic incidents in the Kostroma region.
Osherov, the city of Nerekhta is covered with RNU leaflets and antisemitic and anti-Caucasian graffiti with slogans like "Beat the kikes" and "Beat the fl-asses." There are reports that RNU fighters have purchased explosives in the village of Burmakino in Yaroslavl Oblast.
Last December, the door of a Jewish family's apartment in Nerekhta was set on fire.

According to Interfax, Lazar on 7 February called on Kostroma Oblast Governor Vladimir Shershunov to restrain the ultra-nationalist group Russian National Unity (RNE), as he claims it has been engaging in anti-Semitic activity in that region.
A local Jewish community leader told Lazar that RNE has been distributing leaflets all over the town of Nerekhta, thus covering buildings with anti-Semitic and anti-Caucasian statements.
The next day, a newspaper in Birobidzhan reported that the number of people emigrating from the Jewish Autonomous Oblast to Israel is decreasing sharply.
