Ramos was called to exercise the functions of President of the Republic after the Chamber of Deputies and Senate recognized (11 Nov 1955) the existence of impediment to discharge of duties by President João Café Filho and President of the Chamber of Deputies Carlos Coimbra da Luz.

A partir de 1530 se inició la colonización de  Brasil y fue durante esa  época que toda América funcionó como un satélite de la Península Ibérica por que buena parte de las riquezas americanas llegaba a la Metrópoli lo cual condujo al desarrollo de ésta y al  notorio empobrecimiento de las tierras americanas.
De 1846 a 1934 se fortaleció el régimen proteccionista por medio de los impuestos de aduana destinados a proteger la producción nacional, después se impuso un sistema de convenios comerciales que suscribió con varios países.

Desde os trinta e dois anos de idade se dividia entre a medicina e a carreira política, mas em 1934, com sua vitória para deputado federal, decidiu-se pela dedicação ao Brasil.
O lema "cinqüenta anos em cinco", o plano de metas, a criação da Sudene, a transferência da capital para Brasília, e a política externa na operação Pan-americana foram as características que ficaram para a história.
Juscelino faleceu num acidente de carro na estrada entre Rio de Janeiro e São Paulo, a 22 de agosto de 1976.

Although trained as a doctor, he was elected to the House of Representatives in Minas Gerais state in 1934.
He did come back to Brazil, but was unfortunately killed in a car crash in 1976, near the city of Resende in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
