Net output - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Net output is an accounting concept used in national accounts such as the United Nations System of National Accounts (UNSNA) and the NIPAs, and sometimes in corporate or government accounts.
In national accounts, net output is equivalent to the gross value added during an accounting period when producing enterprises use inputs (labor and capital assets) to produce outputs.
Net output is obtained by subtracting the value of intermediate goods and services from the Gross Output of enterprises.

In an output based allocation methodology, the heat input data required by phase II rules (part 75 standards) can be used to assign gross or net electric output and net thermal output to individual units.
Measuring gross thermal output from boilers and then subtracting away thermal energy that is used for steam turbine electrical power generation, pollution control and other purposes is impractical due to the large number measurements and adjustments required.
Overall, for electrical output the EPA could allow sources the choice of measuring gross or net output and would simply be charged with establishing the standard for measurement accuracy.

Output may also be used as a noun for information transmitted by a source (object).
However, output tends to refer specifically to explicit output, something that is intentionally provided for the user, whereas feedback also encompasses byproducts of operation that happen to contain information (see low-key feedback).

Information that is referred to as output is considered the result of processing the input information, whether the resulting data is sent to a monitor screen or printer, stored as a file on a disk, or sent to another computer on a network.
The circuitry that monitors operations and performs tasks relating to receiving input and transferring output at an input or output device is called the input/output controller.
Input and output activities are part of computer data processing, the analysis and organization of data by the repeated use of one or more computer programs.

Such output is often used for determining what is going on in a program, especially during debugging.
What we would like is a way for this output to appear during the development process, but not with released versions of software.
Or, when someone new to a project encounters code that uses Debug.Assert, she may start using the non-assert members of Debug because she may be used to this from other projects, or because when she sees Debug.Assert in the code, it may seem natural to use other parts of Debug.

For example, you could have a console application that shows you the output of some task; presenting you with successful, questionable, and failed/error events.
.NET console applications do not give you the ability to modify the foreground and background colors of what you output to the screen.

In the case of a very large (500-node) XML file, freeing all of those internal objects is taking quite a while (7 to 8ms).

Page Output Caching, Part 1   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-03)
When output caching is used, ASP.NET is doing less work to satisfy a request, thus allowing the response to be served faster.
Subsequent requests could be satisfied from the Cache, without paying the cost of executing the entire page or the expensive SQL call until the response expired due to a time, key, or file dependency or if the underlying file changes.
When the output cache executes the code to process VaryByParam, the overridden version of GetVaryByCustomString is used, rather than the internal version of the function.

Online Stock Trading - Power Swings Primer 2: Neural Net Output Self-Checking
Let’s continue with our basic discussion of neural nets and how to determine if the neural net outputs have any meaning or value, and is giving one the best possible output solution for the inputs it has been provided.
Over-optimization occurs when a neural net focuses on a series of inputs so tightly that the forecast can only be best trusted over a certain period of input data (which is normally part of the data used to create the neural net to start with).
Walk-forward testing is a series of tests using old inputs to create a neural net, applying that neural net to previously unseen input data, and using that neural net again on out-of-sample data to determine how good the forecasts happen to be.

Remove ASP.NET Page Output Cache Entries: ASP Alliance (via CobWeb/3.1 planetlab2.cs.unc.edu)   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-03)
The first technique is simply to specify a particular page and have its output cache entry removed.
On that page, you would implement output caching by using the <%@ OutputCache %> directive as usual -- nothing special needs to be done to the cached page for this technique to work.
In a real application, you would want this string value to be read from a configuration file, since it will be used in several places and it’s bad practice to use a string literal in more than one place if at all avoidable.
