SAN DIEGO, Sept. 4 -- Cubic Defense Applications group, the defense segment of San Diego-based Cubic Corp., announced it was awarded a contract to provide the Brazilian Army with MILES 2000, a laser-based ground combat training system used by the US military.
MILES 2000 -- which stands for multiple integrated laser engagement system -- allows military commanders to conduct exercises in which the actions of participants, weapons and vehicles are tracked and recorded for review.
Cubic has previously delivered MILES 2000 systems to the US Army at Fort Stewart, Ga.; Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif.; several US Air Force bases; the Kuwait Land Forces; and the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps.
