 NEVER DIE ALONE - DVD
Of course, one can point to King's downfall and say that he is punished for his crimes, but that's the oldest gambit in the book: sanctioning the depiction of licentious behaviour through its eventual vilification.
Director Ernest Dickerson puts the final nail in the coffin by lighting the film like a carnival, taking what ought to be brutal blows in a world of hurt and softening them into a slick and empty music video.
Never Die Alone comes to us on DVD from Fox in a flipper edition featuring both 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen and 1.33:1 fullscreen presentations; while the image suffers from (perhaps premeditated) excessive grain, that's largely compensated for by the beautifully saturated colours essential for the film's sophisticated palette.

Materials for Students: Writing in the Humanities: Writing about Film
Film is so familiar and so prevalent in our lives that we are often lulled into passive viewing (at worst) or into simple entertainment (at best).
All films have distribution and release histories: some films are released to different generations of audiences, to wildly different responses; other films are banned because they threaten certain cultural values.
Other films are not overtly political, but they still promote certain values: Mary Poppins, for example, argues for the idea that fathers need to take a more active interest in their families.

Midway through the film the group happens upon a local wishing well and are forced to make a decision about continuing on with the adventure or climbing their way out of danger.
As the film progresses, however, we can see that the group members slowly gain respect for each others personality traits, and this respect allows them to make decisions in a shorter period of time and spend less time arguing when compared to the beginning of the film.
Later on in the film, Chunk is accidentally locked in the freezer at the Fratelli’s with a murder victim.

Brown says he remembers that Wednesday April 25 well: he got up at 5.30am to fly to Luxembourg, to address the European council of ministers about what Britain was doing about foot and mouth, and only glanced at the headlines about Phoenix and ignored them.
Brown says the meeting was a "continuation" of high-level talks that had taken place the previous Friday with the chief vet and the chief scientist, and that Downing Street would have been well aware that the culling policy was being discussed.
The Daily Express says that the political staff "were given a steer by a senior Downing Street source before 6.30pm", to the effect that Phoenix was to be reprieved and that the culling policy had been changed.

It's part of the 'Of Course' syndrome." Minnelli says she has been cursed with this all her life, the belief among others that anything happening in her life is the inevitable result of her genes.
She has had three miscarriages, just one of the reasons she would say that her life has been defined by love and loss, beginning with her mother's tragic death, then her father's death from cancer and her first husband's death from Aids.

At issue, they say, are a number of legal questions, including whether the $265 million arena deal between the city, the NBA and the owners of a new NBA team violates the North Carolina constitution, state statutes, and the city charter.
Reid says that aside from construction jobs that will be created to build the arena, the city hasn't stated any specific publicly beneficial economic impact the new arena will have.
Suits like this one have ultimately failed both here and across the country, but members of the anti-arena group, including one local attorney, say that the unique way in which Charlotte's arena deal is structured leaves the door open for their lawsuit.

Fleming found the committee to be relatively useless, left, and wrote the novel Thunderball, which introduced Blofeld and SPECTRE in to the book series.
Blofeld is played by Max Von Sydow, one of the finest actors to play the part but grossly wrong for it.
