 | | The Rev. James Barber and his wife Mary Maize Barber met, married, lived, and raised their family in New Berlin, PA. Children included AJ (died as a child), Michael Maize, Matilda, Susannah, James Maize, Lovina, John Knisley, Aaron W., Mary, Joseph L., and possibly one other child. |
 | | Ordained as a preacher in the Evangelical Association in 1817, James served congregations on circuits throughout central Pennsylvania for more than 30 years before ill health forced him to retire. |
 | | To the right of his grave is that of wife Mary and then of son Joseph L., who died at the age of 24 years, 3 months, 15 days. |
