In the parish church is a monument for Sir Joseph Alston, of Bradwell Abbey, (in the adjoining parish of Wolverton,) who died in 1688: an ancient inscription, between the nave and chancel, shews that the church was dedicated to St. Lawrence.
The church of Bradwell was given, in 1275, to the priory of Tickford; the vicarage, which has been endowed with the great tithes, is now in the gift of the crown.

Despite a niggardly spell from Trevor, New Bradwell's batsmen were quick onto the loose ball from the other bowlers, and helped by some lacklustre fielding reached 237, some 40 or 50 more than it should have been had we bowled and fielded better.
To reach such a total required a very good start, but New Bradwell's bowlers were rather too tight, and three an over was the best we could achieve, though we might well have won if the target had been under 200.
