  Return of the New Christs
The thing about New Christs line-ups (and there have been about two-dozen of them) is that they never disappoint.
Two new hands are on guitar and like their singer, are local boys: Dave Kettley (ex-Shifter/Rifter) is in The Dead Set, whose Younger-produced album is about to be unleashed, and Brent Williams (ex-Zambian Goat Herders) who is a dab hand on keyboards as well.
It's well into Saturday morning when the newest New Christs pack onto the small Oxford stage and start making demands of the PA. With a limited preparation, this is going to be a Greatest Hits package with none of the new songs from the Younger canon.

New Christs shows occur with the same frequency as decent movies on cable TV, so there was no question about NOT attending this, their first gig in seven months.
Somehow, it wouldn't be the New Christs without a line-up change and Stewart Wilson is on the drummer's stool, in place of Nik Reith these days.
The New Christs have got some shows coming up in Melbourne in the middle of July and anyone down there even vaguely interested in good rockin' is strongly urged to catch either or both of them.

Divine Rites : Noise for Heroes - New Christs
The New Christs are one of the major bands of the latter half of the 80s, and the fact that there aren't several lps by them at this point proves nothing other than the ignorance of everyone from fans to club owners to writers to record labels who could have made a difference.
Until Charlie Owen left the New Christs had gigged fairly regularly in Australia, but Rob doesn't have any feeling that they are an especially popular band there.
Obviously given the current state of affairs with regard to their guitar player, the New Christs are in a period of doldrums.

Although the New Christs first 45, the now extremely rare "Face A New God" b/w "Waiting World" (currently changing hands for £75 and upwards!), was released as early as 1981 the band didn't make their first Australian tour until mid 1983 when they supported Iggy Pop.
Completing the new line-up were bassist Jim Dickson (who returned to Australia after the Barracudas split up, having originally played there with the Passengers and the Saints amongst others) who had long threatened to form a band with Rob, Charlie Owen on lead and slide guitar and Louis Burdett on drums.
The New Christs have spent the last couple of months playing hither and thither across Europe but, as we go to press, it seems unlikely that there will be any UK shows; as usual it seems to be finance that's the main problem.

This report was broadcast while I was cognizing the new Christs Light “whole brain thinking techniques” from ancient family records.
I instantly realized the same new whole brain thinking techniques just cognized from family records would assist Autistic, ADD and Asperger’s children and adults by creating a synchronized thought process which should enable them to live a normal earthly life while maintaining their “Angelic Awareness”.
Our first healing report of the new Advanced Healing Techniques on an autistic person came from New Zealand only a few weeks ago: “One of the people there was a 17-year old boy, J, son of our hosts, who had the vocabulary of a 3 or 4 year old (some version of autism).

Past New Christs releases have been relatively hard to find in America, but “We Got This” was released on peuedo-Cleveland label, Smog Veil, so it should be a little easier to find.
