The Newfoundland and Labrador New Democratic Party (NDP) is a democratic socialist political party in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.
The NDP is the successor party to the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF).
The Newfoundland CCF was founded in 1955 when Sam Drover, a member of the Newfoundland House of Assembly for White Bay (Trinity North) left the Liberals to sit as a CCFer.

He is the former leader of the Newfoundland and Labrador New Democratic Party.
Harris was elected to the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly in the 1990 provincial election.
He became the leader of the provincial NDP in 1992, and was re-elected to the Legislature in the 1993, 1996, 1999 and 2003 elections.

Lori-Ann Martino, who was a candidate in Labrador riding in the 2004 federal election, says she cannot abide the party's opposition to a commercial seal hunt.

Grand Falls, Newfoundland - Rex Barnes, a long-time Canadian Union of Public Employees activist, was elected to the House of Commons as Progressive Conservative Monday in one of seven federal byelections.
