New Earswick - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
New Earswick is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority of City of York in the north of England, near the River Foss, north of York and south of Haxby.
When the village was built, it was envisaged that all religious groups would share the use of the central community building (the 'Folk Hall'), however, this proved impractical and so in 1914 the Anglican church of St. Andrew's was built on the edge of the parish.
Andrew's is now part of the ecclesiastical parish of Huntington and New Earswick and its various rooms are well-used by numerous groups from both communities as well as by a vibrant Christian congregation of all ages.
