New Edinburgh is a small neighbourhood in Ottawa, Canada.
New Edinburgh was founded by Thomas McKay, one of the builders of the Rideau Canal lock system.
Originally part of Gloucester Township, New Edinburgh was incorporated as a separate village in 1866 by a special act of parliament, but was annexed in 1887 by Ottawa.

Incorporated as the Ontario Pacific Railway in 1882, it became the Ottawa and New York Railway in 1897.
Agreement could not initially be negotiated with the Ottawa, Arnprior and Parry Sound Railway on the use of Central Depot and Ottawa and New York trains ran to and from the Canadian Pacific station at Sussex or McTaggert Street.
It was caused by undermining of the centre pier of the bridge by the rush of water and masonry from a large break in the canal bank.

 News - Rock Band Divided Highway Playing Contemporary, Classic and Country Rock
Tech Rocks, an annual "Battle of the Bands" assembling high tech's musically inclined from Ottawa, was hosted in June at the Corel Center's Hard Rock Cafe.
While the band did not win, it was among the frontrunners.
More importantly, since the band consists of employees at Algonquin College, a leading school of technology, the event is close to the band's heart as proceeds from the event are targeted to support human resource development through projects and programs, and will support the development and expansion of Ottawa's technology talent pool.
