BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Williams College men's and women's track teams defended their respective titles at the 2006 NESCAC Track and Field Championship Saturday afternoon at the John J. Magee Track on the campus of Bowdoin College.
It is the sixth straight conference crown for both the men and women's teams from Williams.

Several NESCAC institutions were involved in that original study, along with members of the Ivy League and other public and private colleges and universities.
While we admire the achievements and talents of our student athletes and reaffirm the educational value of athletic competition, we are concerned that the competitive pressures of intercollegiate athletics, within our conference and beyond it, risk distorting the place and purposes of athletic participation in our institutions.

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA- The Wheaton College women's volleyball team took on four members of the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) at the Williams College Invitational this weekend.
The Lyons, who are now 0-7, opened play on Friday against Connecticut College with their closest match of the young season, a 3-2 (26-30, 30-28, 31-29, 19-30, 4-15) loss, before falling by a 3-0 (24-30, 17-30, 23-30) final against Wesleyan University.
In a 1-1 match with Connecticut College, Wheaton was a point away from trailing 2-1 before rallying with the final six points for a 31-29 win.

Pairings for the 63-team field were announced Monday morning by Cathie Schweitzer, Director of Athletics at Springfield College and chairperson of the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Committee, and Donnie Wagner, Assistant Director of Championships and NCAA liaison to the selection committee.
