New Hall is a women's college in the University of Cambridge.
New Hall gained an unwelcome notoriety in 1997 when four of its members achieved the worst ever score on the general knowledge television quiz University Challenge.
With the conversion of the last men-only colleges into mixed colleges in the 1970s and 80s, many people questioned whether New Hall would remain a women-only college (in fact there were rumours of a possible merger with St Johns College in the 1980s).

During renovation of New York's City Hall Park in 1999, colonial burials were found just northeast of City Hall (1) and in the northwest corner of the park (2).
Construction of a new office building in 1991 (3) led to the discovery and excavation of 427 burials from the eighteenth-century African Burial Ground, which was just beyond the palisade that protected the city on the north.
A new courthouse (known as the Tweed Courthouse) was later built, just north of City Hall, and the area was transformed into the pristine seat of city government.
