Coliseum Authority President Edward Piazza said his panel met with SMG and directed the firm and SMG building manager Lisa Audi to handle negotiations with the unions.
The July audit of the Coliseum's finances and market share projected a $1.6 million "cash deficit" after the arena's operating debts are settled, assets auctioned off, and the building mothballed by early next year.

Taking down the arena section of the three-decade-old Coliseum, or phase one, was close to completion by February, but concerns by utility representatives brought the project to a halt.

I know there's a few of us who are still in/grew up/went to college in the New Haven area, and right now it's big news (actually delightful news to the media for some reason).
I never went in it but I always used to drive past it on the way to the bars in New Haven or to the train station when I went to Quinnipiac.
Then I was back in NH around New Years to go the KofC museum, and the garage was still there! I guess it will all be gone tomorrow, though.
