Section 22a-471 of the Connecticut General Statutes grants authority to the Commissioner of Health Services to determine when a contaminant of groundwater creates, or may reasonably be expected to create, an unacceptable risk to the health of persons using such waters for drinking or other domestic purposes.
The Connecticut Department of Health Services will continue to collect relevant data from all available sources to provide for an understanding and possible explanation for the observed increase in kidney cancer cases during the five year period of data collection for the Waterbury census tract 3511.
