Even though the Saints had won the NFC West, and were the host team for the playoffs not many experts gave them a shot of beating the defending Super Bowl Champion St. Louis Rams despite struggling to make the playoffs as the 6th seed.
However, these Saints were different and in a spectacular shoot out the Saints would grab a lead at halftime, and every time the Rams goat with in a FG the Saints would surge out to a 10 point lead again.
As the Saints were getting read to begin the season, they like the rest of New Orleans were forced to scramble as a major hurricane was coming down the gulf, as many of New Orleans residents gathered in the Louisiana Superdome to ride out the storm.
