In Jersey City, the highway was to cross the high ridge (part of the New Jersey Palisades) before descending to the Holland Tunnel.
The state highway department appointed an Advisory Board of Engineers, which was charged with devising plans for handling traffic from the tunnel, laying out a route, and designing a highway to meet the traffic demands of the Holland Tunnel.
In the early part of the decade, new approaches were built at the Newark end of the skyway to Raymond Boulevard, and later to the New Jersey Turnpike (I-95).

New alignment from Middletown to the SR 1 Turnpike
Of the options touted, a new 300-foot wide corridor between 15 to 19 miles, widening of the existing highway, and the addition of interchanges to existing Delaware 896 were considered.
The state route was an extension of Maryland 299 until Maryland truncated that highway southwestward to Sassafras and junction U.S. 301 itself crosses the state line in 1.2 miles and intersects the north end of Maryland 299 in 3.7 miles.

On April 14, 1952, the State Legislature enacted legislation to create the New Jersey Highway Authority, which was to construct, operate and maintain a self-sufficient toll parkway from Paramus to Cape May. Orrie de Nooyer was appointed as the first executive director of the New Jersey Highway Authority.
The speed limit on the Garden State Parkway is 65 MPH from milepost 27 north to milepost 123, and from milepost 163 north to the New Jersey-New York border.
The entire length of the extension between NJ 17 in Paramus and the New York State Thruway was $21.3 million, $17.0 million of which was borne by the New Jersey Highway Authority and the remainder by the New York State Thruway Authority.

The original Exit 15 was a standard "trumpet"-style interchange with the short stub of I-287 extant at that time.

A new report based on data from the Federal Highway Administration says South Carolina’s Department of Transportation is the second-most efficient such agency in the nation.
The highest per-mile funding was in New Jersey, which received $1.2 million per mile.
Last year, the state was ranked third in the same report, authored by David T. Hartgen, professor of transportation studies at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, for the past 15 years.

In State of Alabama, mopeds are classed as motorcycles, thus motorcycle license is needed to operate one.
You must be 15, wear a helmet, not exceed 25 mph operating speed, may operate on bike routes abutting streets, have a moped, car or motorcycle license, have insurance and plates, and to get plates, you must produce title to register (which is how one gets plates).
There are numerous specifications for mopeds within the state Transportation Code, some of which are picayune, but common sense is the prime consideration (unlike Maryland or DC), and local juristictions may impose particular requirements more stringent than the state code.
