New Jersey State Highway 167, like many New Jersey state highways, was created when a U.S. highway (in this case, U.S.) was rerouted around Mullica River in 1954.
The southern end is in Port Republic, New Jersey and the northern end is in Bass River, New Jersey.
The only indication that NJ 167 is a state highway is the still-existing zero mile marker.
