The New Jersey Median Barrier is the tapered concrete barrier that is used in many narrow highway medians, to prevent vehicle crossovers into oncoming traffic.
The state highway department observed the accident results of its barrier installations, and evolved the shape of the barrier.
Both New Jersey and California continued experimenting in the early 1960s, and the New Jersey barrier was widely adopted by California; they installed 132 miles by 1972 and 680 miles by 1988.

Route 71 is a state highway in New Jersey, United States, running 16.78 miles (27.00 kilometers) near the shore in Monmouth County.
The old Route 4 between Eatontown and Belmar thus kept its number, and was assigned Route 4N by the New Jersey State Highway Department.
In 1929 the definition of Route 35 was amended to remove Manasquan, allowing for a new alignment between Belmar and Brielle.

 Pennsylvania Highways:  Interstate 79
Interstate 79 would be comprised of two sections: the Northwestern Extension that would run from Pittsburgh to Erie and the Southwestern Extension that would run from Pittsburgh to the West Virginia border.
The I-79 Bridge, as it is referred to, is the longest span in Western Pennsylvania.
When I-79 was resurfaced in 2001, a larger warning sign was installed above the lanes to warn of the winding alignment ahead and the banking changed to make it easier for vehicles to remain on the Interstate while passing through the bends.

The state plans, which called for a north-south, NJ 18 Freeway from Bound Brook to Eatontown, and a north-south, NJ 35 Freeway from Long Branch to Seaside Heights, were endorsed by the Tri-State Transportation Commission in its 1962 regional expressway plan.
Construction of the new Raritan River span began in the late 1960's, and by 1970, three massive piers that were to be used to support the bridge were in place.
New connections were to be provided in East Brunswick at the New Jersey Turnpike (I-95), and at the (unbuilt) NJ 74 Freeway.

Before the GR, it was 26 from PA to current 26 south of New Brunswick, S26 from there to US 130 (old 25), 25 from there to Tonnelle Circle in Jersey City, 1 to I-95, and 4/6 to the NY state line on the George Washington Bridge.
When the northern end of the New Jersey Turnpike opened on 1/15/1952, the Lincoln Tunnel approach was extended past 3 to the Turnpike, causing a modification of the interchange between the two roads.
