The rest of Oxford Street is mainly multiples, but John Lewis (near Oxford Circus) is worth a look especially for make up and Selfridges (Bond Street) is again worth looking round, especially for chocolate.
Infact the street is not bad if you want to mas buy bangles and the like, but the shops down there are all wholesale and will only sell in bulk, there are also one or two nice fabric shops as well.

These same structures were relocated on Oxford Street to new locations north of the Dworkin Driveway and the Everett Intersection.

In July 1956 the LCC decided to clear-up the intersection of Oxford Street, Tottenham Court Road, New Oxford Street, St Giles' High Street and Charing Cross Road by building a roundabout.
As planning permission rarely made front page news this meant that developers often did the landowners, who were in total ignorance of the existence of the planning permission, the favour of reliving them of the burdens of ownership at a reasonable price.
In the year that the Tower - Centre Point - was finished the Ministry of Transport announced a new road flow system for London: Tottenham Court Road and Charing Cross Road were made one-way streets, which in turn meant nobody needed the roundabout.

Never a big shopper, and having been swamped by work, I hadn't been to Oxford Street for a couple of months before last weekend.
My favorite part of the store is their little trolleys with their little handles, conical container (in shimmering green or silver) for bulky items such as bags and shoes, and an elliptical stem arching over the body of the trolley for clothes to be hung.
I've jst got a job at the New Look Flagship store in Glasgow City centre which is due to open in December.
