He revealed that the NPP awarded him, as well as other members of the so-called 'Fully Trained Vigilant New Patriotic Party Agents' "certificates of honour" signed by Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey and Odoi Sykes, for their roles in ensuring victory for the NPP, including multiple voting.
To most observers, the NPP has always been a party that has presented a democratic façade to the populace, while it is actually shamelessly manipulating every inch of the process behind the scenes in the most undemocratic manner.

In general, voting was orderly, freed of violence that usually plagues most African election, except with few instances, like the one that occurred at one polling station at North Kaneshie in Accra, where a man with a gun held up voting for hours saying voting should not start in the absence of police.

But the campaign manager of the NPP, Jake Obetsebi Lamptey in an interview, told The Chronicle that the new position of the party did not matter much, because the “Asieho” slogan still held good with the people who he said were satisfied with the government’s performance.
The Campaign Manager said since 1992, the NPP had used the Elephant as its symbol and that was what they would focus on, not the position the party got on the ballot sheet.
