		Called "Alabama New-Hire," this program, which is operated by the Department of Industrial Relations, has proved to be an even greater success than was predicted when it began.
		Alabama New-Hire was instituted for the purpose of reducing mispayment of unemployment compensation, and it has done just that by detecting and preventing benefit payments to workers who have returned to work--the one, two, and three-week claims, which are the number one cause of overpayment of unemployment compensation.
		Alabama New-Hire has also provided a direct means for identifying workers who refuse jobs while receiving unemployment compensation.
