New Zealand English - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
New Zealand English is the dialect of English spoken in New Zealand, occasionally referred to within New Zealand as Newzild.
New Zealanders will often reply to a question with a statement spoken with a rising inflection on the last couple of words (known in linguistics as a high rising terminal).
New Zealanders, in informal speech, will often use the third person feminine she in place of the third person neuter it as the subject of a sentence, especially when the subject is the first word of the sentence.

 Slang and Informal English
Slang is a subset of a language used by one particular group.
When a particular new expressions is known and used by a large majority of the population, it is no longer slang, but part of the regular language or usage.
For the language, slang is like a linguistic laboratory, where new words and forms can be tested out, applied to a variety of situations, and then either abandoned or incorporated into the regular language.

Do You Speak American . Words That Shouldn't Be? . Sez Who? . Buffy | PBS
Buffy needs slang, as a means of shrugging off millennial expectations, as a weapon, and as an expression of personality officially denied her by her role: in a sense, she IS slang, as are those who associate with her.
Undoubtedly, most slayer slang will prove ephemeral, not that there’s anything wrong with that; indeed, short-lived terms and tendencies are often significant in their time and can influence the course of American English, though once they disappear, we may not see the connections between them and what follows them.
Slang is a type of linguistic jaywalking: you can stand at the crosswalk and wait for the light to change, but that would be boring, as well as slow, so we’d rather not.

It is the nature of slang that it is either used to replace taboo phrases or to playfully enhance them, this is unavoidable when compiling a list of this sort.
I have not included an exhaustive list of 'Rhyming Slang' terms but have focused on the specific phrases that are still widely used all around the capital.
There are a number of pages on the 'net' that focus on 'Rhyming Slang' in more detail, but these largly focus on the historic terms that are only used by a very small group of people which I feel gives a rather cliched view of Londoners.

While the slang entries themselves are given in pinyin with tone markings, which is fine for foreign learners of the language, the example sentences given are entirely in Chinese characters, which makes it useless unless you already read Chinese really well, or unless you have a very sympathetic native speaker with you while you study!
Another highly important factor is that the force of the slang words is not discussed, meaning that what you may be saying may be a potent insult in China whereby the equivalent in English may not bear this out.
