While the Recovery Version follows the Nestle-Aland 26th edition for the most part, it has departed here and there based on the study and consideration of the manuscripts by its translators.

I, on the other hand, have read this and other Bible versions several times and find that both the translation and the commentary in the Recovery Version New Testament are excellent and edifying for any Christian.
As a student of New Testament Greek I have been impressed by the accuracy of the translation of this Bible since I was directed to it by my professor, who happens to be Greek.
He reccomended this version as a good example of how to stay true to the Greek text, but strongly cautioned us to ignore the footnotes because the person who worte them was very obviously not of the same level of expertise as the translators.

The first edition of the New Testament was produced in 1985, and it was revised 6 years later.
On the Greek text of the New Testament, the introduction says that the translators have mostly followed the 26th edition of the Nestle-Aland Greek text, though they have sometimes departed from it.
However, the edition of the Recovery New Testament that I used, which has extensive headings and footnotes, cannot be recommended, because invariably those using it will read the footnotes.
