Municipal governments in Nova Scotia are elected every four years, and the next round of elections is scheduled in October 2008.

We are a couple in our 20s from the UK in August 2005 we visited New Waterford, Nova Scotia, Canada for a friends wedding, There was little choice in where to stay due to the remoteness of this location so we were left with little choice on where to stay.
On arrival at the B and B we were met with a pleasant welcome by the owners.
It seems that New Waterford is perhaps a little new to tourism after its troubled past, and they seem to have missed some of the sublties of providing accomodation.

RCMP in Pangnirtung have not yet made an arrest following the assault early Monday morning, which resulted in a 31-year-old woman from New Waterford, Nova Scotia being medevaced to hospital in Ottawa.
RCMP in Nova Scotia say the woman was a recent arrival to Pangnirtung, and was expected to be there for the summer.
