The New York, Rio, and Buenos Aires Line (NYRBA) was incorporated in March 1929 under the leadership of Ralph O'Neill.
After a flight of his floating airplane to Buenos Aires, NYRBA opened regular service on August 29 from Argentina's capital to Montevideo.
After being denied the East Coast mail route to Buenos Aires by U.S. Post master General W.F. Brown (who took a bribe), NYRBA's financial future was dismal, especially during the midst of the depression.

It was often referred to as an “Air Yacht”; it was stylish and luxurious and had wheels making it a true amphibian seaplane.
Care must be taken as there are several very fine details and you do not want to be hunting for them at the bottom of a sink full of hot soapy water.
There is a seam line that will have to be filled but I think I will wait a day or two before tackling that one.

The large, twin-engine flying boat carried passengers to and from South America for New York, Rio and Buenos Aires Line beginning in 1929.
Erickson notes that the airplane, an important part of Consolidated's early flying boat experience, was a corporate predecessor to the PBY Catalina, which he did fly.
The plane's air conditioning system was not operable, and the temperature in the cabin was 140 degrees at takeoff.
