New York Gov. George Pataki declared a state of emergency for the state and deployed additional state police.

The New York City generators—at two sites in the Bronx, two in Brooklyn, one in Queens and one on Staten Island—are the cleanest plants in the city.
The small power plants have also helped protect the environment by permitting older, oil- and natural gas-fueled plants, which are not as clean as the NYPA generators, to reduce their output, thus improving air quality.

With the Power averaging giving up almost three goals per game, it'll be interesting to see what gives way.
