New Zealand First emerged as a political grouping in 1993, shortly before the that year's general election.
Following the 2005 election, New Zealand First agreed to a supply and confidence agreement with the Labour Party (along with United Future) in return for policy concessions and the post of Foreign Minister for Winston Peters.
Much of the New Zealand media criticised this move as a withdrawal from Peter's earlier position (outlined in his "Rotorua speech") that his party would sit on the crossbenches and thus stay out of government.

I was wondering if it is worth it to go through a travel organization such as BUNAC or CIEE since I am a first time backpacker.
Most of the bigger hostels in the main cities have noticeboards and there are usually quite a few notices for travel partners wanted.
I have no experience in dealing with either BUNAC or CIEE so can't really comment on them but New Zealand is the perfect country for a first time backpacker, you will meet plenty of others when you arrive here in the same boat as yourself.

Its 8 Boeing 747s (the only aircraft with First class now in the Air NZ fleet) have all had a row of seats removed from First (reduced from 16 to 12 seats in the nose of the 747) and the old seats adjusted to now go 180 degrees flat.
Air New Zealand has called tenders for new flat bed seats for Business Class, so is likely to make detailed announcements about introducing flat bed Business Class later this year.
