List of United Kingdom Parliament constituencies - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is a list of the 646 constituencies currently represented in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom Parliament, as at the 2005 general election.
Constituency boundaries are subject to regular review by an independent Boundary Commission, usually once every 10 to 15 years, to keep the electorate of each constituency as close to the national average as is reasonably possible.
Today, constituencies in England are mostly subdivisions of administrative counties, with each constituency being comprised of a number of whole wards (for the purposes of the Boundary Commissions, unitary authorities, metropolitan boroughs and London boroughs are treated as separate administrative counties).

[Sir Alan Haselhurst in the Chair...: 11 Jul 2001: House of Commons debates (TheyWorkForYou.com)
One obligation was that Parliament could not have exclusive control over decisions on certain issues and that sovereignty had to be pooled on issues where an EU view was needed to prevent a country from vetoing any proposal that it found to be against its interests or that it did not want.
Electors in my constituency and elsewhere who are watching our debate will say that there is at least some hypocrisy in the Conservative position.
If there were a veto, it might mean that there would be no agreement, or that the UK and Ireland had to give way to protect their position.

Newcastle upon Tyne Central BC Newcastle upon Tyne North BC The Commission's revised recommendations take account of the recommendations contained in the report submitted by the Assistant Commissioner, Mr Guy Roots QC, who considered both the written representations made to the Commission and the views expressed at the public inquiry held on 21 June 2005.
He reported that the counter-proposal from Labour North, which proposed that the replacement wards should be the City of Newcastle upon Tyne wards of East Gosforth and West Gosforth from Newcastle Upon Tyne North BC, would have a significant effect on the electorates.
He considered that there was not a clear boundary between the Newcastle upon Tyne wards of North Jesmond and South Jesmond, and decided that it would not be satisfactory to have them in separate constituencies as was counter-proposed in order to accommodate the retention of Wallsend in its current constituency.
